- A summoner that calls upon wraiths to defend and attack on the party's behalf.
- —Class description, Etrian Odyssey V
The Necromancer is one of the new classes in Etrian Odyssey V. They are capable of manipulating the spirits of the dead, called Wraiths, using them as minions for a multitude of purposes, be it attacking, defending, spreading ailments, or healing the party. Necromancers are hence very flexible and can fill in various roles in the party, but clash with other classes like Rovers who also bring their own companions in-battle.
Wraiths[]
- Main article: Wraith
Wraiths are a unique summon and a resource for the Necromancer, and have their own stat progression, tied to the level of the Necromancer summoning them. If not used for any spell, the Wraith has a chance of doing nothing or attacking a random enemy, with a very small chance of inflicting paralysis.

- Strengths: Capable of immense amounts of damage using Wraiths with high enough health. Zombie Power on instant death-vulnerable FOEs creates 9999HP Wraiths that can be flung with Fair Trade for just under 10,000 damage a turn.
- Weaknesses: Lack of offensive variety. Gates of Hell, their staple damage source in boss fights, is extremely TP intensive.
