Insectortoise (Etrian Odyssey III)[]
The Insectortoise is first encountered on B22F of the Cyclopean Haunt.
Upon death, these enemies will use the skill Lay Egg, removing them from battle and leaving behind a Pandora Egg. However, them using Lay Egg does not count as killing them. This means that allowing them to use Lay Egg prevents any items from dropping, any EXP from being gained and will not register them in your compendium. They may also hasten their own demise by using Discharge to deal heavy volt damage to one row while receiving recoil damage.
In order to obtain Stink Scutellums and Shielded Wings, they must be prevented from using the skill Lay Egg by putting them to sleep, stunning them, confusing them, insta-killing them or petrifying them.
Skills[]
- Discharge (Uses Head): Deal heavy volt-elemental damage to one row of party members. Receives 20% of its max HP in recoil damage.
- Lay Egg (Uses None): Upon death, leaves the battle and spawns one Pandora Egg, preventing item and exp drops. Use sleep, confusion, instant kills or petrification to prevent the use of this skill.
- Throw (Uses None): Combo skill with Longicorn Beta. Deals heavy damage to the entire party. Deals damage to the Insectortoise as well.
