Gold Guardian is a DLC quest monster can be encountered after accepting the quest "Slay the Gold Guardians" in all dungeons. Once the quest is completed, that is to say when 5 Gold Guardians have been defeated, no Gold Guardians appear until the quest is accepted again.

Like the Pooka and the Red Pooka, it only takes one point of damage for all attacks. However, since it doesn't have much HP it can be defeated faster with fixed damage, like Blowback Sigil or Poison. Since it drops several hundred en when it is killed as well as items that can sell for a lot of money, especially the Nugget, it is the easiest way to farm money. However, when it dies by exploding with Failsafe System, it drops nothing and does not count for the quest.

This monster is a Normal type monster.

Skills[]

  • Force System (Uses Arms): "Activates a force field, decreasing physical defense in the zone and pushing enemies back." Pushes the target of two tiles and decreases its defense. The effect Physical Resist Down disappears only when the party goes to another zone. Used only on an adjacent tile after it has lost 3HP.
  • Summon System (Uses Head): "Activates a summoning system, calling similar units to surrounding areas." Summons between 1 and 2 Gold Guardians.
  • Failsafe System (Uses Head): "Activates a self-destruction system, inducing an explosion that engulfs the proximity." Passive Skill activated by Countdown. Inflicts 50% of the remaining HP of the party members in an area of 1 tile around it. Destroys also walls, items, amber tile and traps in the explosion area, one-shots monsters in the area and inflicts 1 HP damage to DOEs in the area.
  • Malfunction (Uses None): "Taking damage has caused technical difficulties." The monster misses its turn. It is then written "Gold Guardian is having technical difficulties." Used only after it has lost 5HP.
  • Countdown (Uses Head): "Begin the countdown to self-destruction and deal 1 damage to self." Used only after it has lost 5HP.

Drops[]

  • Drops between 500en and 2500en depending on the dungeon in which it is killed.
  • Gold Fragment (Worth: 500 en)
  • Nugget (Worth: 5000 en)
