Cold Watchmen are located in the Echoing Library. As far as FOE are concerned they are surprisingly weak, and have highly predictable movement patterns. Most travel in straight lines, and upon reaching an intersection will turn to look down each hall before pressing on.

Despite being weak, if one should see you it will sound an alarm which activates all of the Cruel Slayers in the room, quickly turning an easy fight into a struggle for survival (as the slayers move very quickly and will attempt to join the battle ASAP).

Cold Watchmen almost always start with Target Search as their first move, and follow up by alternating between a normal attack or Thorny Ball. Target Search lasts for at least 3-4 turns, the opposing Cold Watchman will always reuse this skill as it is about to wear off. Cruel Slayers are affected by Target Search and will attack the party member that it is under its effects.

  • Thorny Ball (Uses Arms): Deals damage to one party member and splashes to neighboring party members.

The Cold Watchman is a 1-tile DOE that can be encountered in Haunted Woods, Crystalline Peak, Snowy Cavern, Torrential Ravine.

Its Cut and Fire Resistance are Resistance +. This monster is a Normal type monster.

Skills[]

  • Target Search (Uses Head): "Focuses its sights on a specific enemy, increasing accuracy." Inflicts Hatred Up to an adjacent party member for 4 turns. Hatred Up makes the character a priority target for monsters.
  • Spiked Ball (Uses Arms): "Swings around a spiked steel ball that stabs up to three enemies that stand in front of it."
  • Set Trap (Uses Head): "Creates a trap on the ground." Passive Skill.
  • Amber Lure (Uses Head): "Sprays the area with Amber mist, calling all monsters in the zone to gather." Teleports all monsters on the floor around the DOE. This skill does not work in corridors.

  • Wandering Box : Chest that disappears after about ten rounds and that contains a random item from the dungeon, usually a piece of equipment.
