The third game scraps all previous classes, opting instead to go with a set of 12 completely new classes. Many of these classes have parallels to be drawn with the classes of the previous two games.

Main Classes[]

Common Skills[]

Unlike predecessors, instead of only class skills being available, there are now Common skills that can be accessed in a different tab when allocating skill points. Each skill has a maximum level of 10.

HP Up Increases maximum HP
TP Up Increases maximum TP
Bandage A field-only skill that heals allies.
Combat Study User still gains a portion of combat EXP while not in party.
Chop Allows harvesting at Chopping Points.
Mine Allows harvesting at Mining Points.
Take Allows harvesting at Gathering Points.

Subclassing[]

A new addition to the series is a Subclassing system. It allows each guild member to obtain a secondary class and learn skills to increase diversity and customization. This ability is only unlocked after reaching the Deep City, and you assign subclasses in the Celestial Palace.

When you assign a subclass, the adventurer gains five free skill points and almost the entire skill tree of their subclass. The only thing they cannot take from their subclass is the subclass's own class skill, which creates variation between certain class/subclass permutations. Subclasses cannot be changed once assigned, and are removed by Resting at the Explorers Guild.

Certain classes also have weapon mastery skills; investment in those skills will allow the character to equip the corresponding weapon when they couldn't before. A Hoplite subclass also bestows a Shield Mastery passive that permits the character to equip all manner of shields.
