Aquatic Butcher, known as Killclaw in first two installment, is a stronger FOE version of the Cutcrab. Those opportunistic hunters often lie underwater, just out of sight, and are drawn to nearby random battles. They will approach battles-in-progress until they join the fight, at which point they attack. They appear in Etrian Odyssey, Etrian Odyssey II, and Etrian Odyssey Untold.

Killclaws are FOEs that can be first encountered on B13F of the Azure Rainforest. Unlike other FOEs, Killclaws aren't really visible; instead, they hide in the water. Upon entering a battle, the Killclaw will leave its submerged state and wander towards your position, trying to enter the battle.
Killclaws have a solid defense and attack, but they can be avoided completely by fighting sensibly.

Killclaw can appear from nowhere during a fight, as it waits until a fight is started before joining. It's by all accounts a rather dangerous monster, since its special ability, Claws, has a chance to instantly kill an opponent. As it naturally has high attack, it's best to deal with this beast quickly. It's vulnerable to having its arms bound.

The Aquatic Butcher is a FOE in the later floors of the Azure Rainforest where it, like before, will wait in water until the player gets into a battle, upon which it starts to make its way over to join in the battle. If the battle ends before it gets to you, it instantly disappears into the water again.
